1. Reading Journal

These are so helpful, from organizing your TBR to rating books you have already read. It’s a great way of keeping track and recognizing patterns of what books you tend to like and what books you’re not very interested in.

It helps remember plots, quotes, and characters. I also found it to be motivating, like a little reward at the end of each book. You can find these at pretty much any bookstore; if not, you can always find them online!

2. Candles

Candles are so helpful in creating a warm reading atmosphere. It really sets the mood, and they smell sooo good. There’s nothing more cozy than staying up late at night with candles burning while you read in bed in your pajamas. Some cozy candle scents are amber with honey, warm gourmand, and any woodsy scents. Bonus points if it matches the theme of their book!

3. Tote bags

How else can they carry all the new books they buy?? These bags are so durable and stylish, perfect for carrying books wherever you go and looking good doing it. They look so aesthetically pleasing and give total book-girl vibes.  You can get them in all different designs, of course, just make sure to get them a tote bag that reflects their personality and style. No need to zip and unzip a backpack forty times when you can just grab it straight out the top.

4. Reading light

You have no idea how many times readers stay up all night reading a book they just can’t put down. Or go traveling and read a book in the car or in the hotel at night. A small reading lamp or light is so practical!

There are many different types of these reading lights. There are clips on the reading lights that you can clip to your book, and they just hang over the page. Another type is a clear, flat book light. These go over the page and light it up; it's also clear, so you can read through it. Book lights usually come with different light settings like warm, neutral, or cool white.

5. Weighted blanket

I absolutely recommend that everyone have a weighted blanket. I promise you’ll never want to leave your bed. They’re super relaxing. Weighted blankets reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. When it comes to choosing colors, choose a color you know they love or a color you can't go wrong with, like black or white.

6. Tote bags

Book nooks are absolutely wonderful! You can find them already made, or you can find a kit to make them online. They’re absolutely adorable when it comes to decorating bookshelves! There are book-themed ones, cafe-themed ones, and really anything you can think of. It’s like making the book come to life in the smallest, most delightful way!

If you'd like to make one for your friend, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube, Pinterest, or other social media. (bonus points if you make it yourself!)

6. Book sleeves

Book sleeves are suuuuper useful to a reader. Especially if the book lover likes to keep their book clean, undamaged, and uncreased. It covers the whole book, so if they love their privacy, then they definitely got it! You can get them in any designs, make sure to get one that is personal to them!

Some book sleeves come with extra pockets for highlighters, pens, bookmarks, and anything you might need while reading, whether on the go or at home. You really can’t go wrong with this gift.

8. Blind book kits

These are peak gifts. Here's how to make one: first, pick a genre you know they like or mainly read, and find a book. Pick a book you think they’d find interesting, or maybe a book that they really want to read but haven't bought yet. Wrap your book in any wrapping paper as long as it covers the book, and write clues about the genre/plot.

Next, add highlighters, a bookmark, or anything they can use to annotate if that's what they're into.

Finally, add some goodies! For example, you can add their favorite snacks, tea bags, or spa masks. That’s it! I guarantee your book lover bestie will love this!!
