Recent Reads

Here are my three most recent reads and my thoughts on them. As you can see, I enjoy a variety of different books, but my favorites tend to be YA romance.

Powerless - Lauren Roberts

The hype for this book is SOOO well deserved! I could not put this book down!! The plot just kept getting better and more addictive throughout the book. Every moment between Kai and Paedyn had me giggling and kicking my feet. I won't spoil it, but if you have read the book, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. There was one scene that had me crying in the middle of class. I, no joke, had to put my head down for a little. Something I did notice was that the plot was VERY similar to other books I've heard about and read. I do wish it were a bit more original, but I'm glad I found a book that was similar to those books because I really liked those. One more small detail I loved was the names; they were so creative!  It fits the characters perfectly. Overall, a 5/5 book!

Love and Luck - Jenny Evans Welch

So this book was okay, but I almost didn't finish it because I personally found it boring. It was a sweet book about a girl rebuilding her relationship with her brother. It goes through their struggles with pressure and standards. She also builds a relationship with a good friend. They don't really finish their relationship. Like, it's implied they're more than friends, but they kinda just stay friends? I did really like that she and her brother rebuilt their relationship but I didn't really like the fact she sent stuff to her ex....not a fan of that.. but in the story she regretted it, so they weren't okaying that or anything.

Yellow Brick War - Danielle Paige

I don't really know how I feel. It was a great book, but it felt...short, and yet I feel like there were more unnecessary details that were added. This whole series could probably be summed up in two books. I love the romance, but it's only a side part, which is understandable but disappointing for someone who loves romance. Not my favorite, but I'll probably read the rest just to finish the series.
